The mass airflow sensor (commonly abbreviated to MAF) is one of the most important engine management sensors. A bad mass airflow sensor can leave your Chevy Equinox's engine running rough, or even inoperable. A MAF sensor measures the density of the air entering the intake manifold. It passes this information onto your Equinox's ECU.
Here are a few reasons you might be experiencing symptoms of a bad mass air flow sensor: Contamination: Dirt, dust, or debris can accumulate on the sensor's wire or film, impairing its function and causing false readings. Exposure to water or oil: When moisture from water or oil vapor enters the intake system, it can coat the MAF sensor.
Often, the solution for the code P0102 is to replace the mass air flow sensor if no other problems are found. A poor-quality part can also cause the code P0102. It's best to use an OEM sensor. The mass air flow sensor costs from $70 to $350. Replacing the sensor is easy. If the problem is fixed, the code P0102 will clear itself after driving.
Oil contamination in MAF connector or O2 sensor connectors. Also check ignition coils, cam and crank sensors, and oil sensor for leakage contributing to oil intrusion in wiring harness. Defective MAF (Mass Air Flow) sensor (especially on Mercedez-Benz and other European autos. There are a lot of problems with aftermarket MAF sensors.)

It passes this information onto your Tacoma’s ECU. The ECU uses this information along with other sensor data to control the amount of fuel that enters the combustion
Common Symptoms of a BAD Ford MAF Sensor This is not the most definitive list on the subject, but does cover the majority of symptoms I've seen on these types of Ford Mass Air Flow Sensors: 1) MAF Codes that light up the CHECK ENGINE LIGHT (CEL) on your Instrument Cluster. P0102 MAF Signal Low Input to PCM. P0103 MAF Signal High Input to PCM.
In this video, you'll learn five symptoms of a bad MAF (MASS AIR FLOW) sensor. These principles can be applied to any car. Thank you for watching! 🔥OBD2 Sca

Here are the most common symptoms of a bad or failing MAF sensor: Idle Issues – Your Celica may run rich or lean when idling, or it may also idle erratically. A rich condition is when there is not enough air relative to the fuel in the air/fuel mixture. The exhaust color is usually darker when running rich. A lean condition is when there is
